One of my favorite things about Boston is the beer culture. There are so many great micro-breweries and huge breweries, such as Harpoon and Sam Adams. And since we're focusing on free things to do in the city, out focus today will be on Samuel Adams Brewery (though they do suggest a $2 donation)!
Sam Adams offers free brewery tours:
Monday-Thursday 10am-3pm
Friday 10am-5:30pm
Saturday 10am-3pm
Check out more detailed info here!
Then a little outside of Boston is another free tour, you just have to go to Chelsea. I haven't been to this one, but it's supposed to be good, it's called Mystic Brewery. They have free tours every Saturday at 1pm and 2pm. Learn more here!

And in case this wets your whistle there are a lot more tours around the city, just not free ones. You can also check out Harpoon's tours for $5:
Mon – Wed from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM (starting on the hour, last tour at 5p)
Thu - Fri from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM (starting on the hour, last tour at 6p)
Saturday from 11:20 AM to 6:00 PM (starting every 20 min, last tour at 6p)
Sunday from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM (starting every 30 min, last tour at 530p)
Happy Drinking!
